The Borg Warner EFR 6258 Turbo is the smallest turbocharger in the ultra high efficient EFR Borg Warner lineup. The 62mm OD billet compressor wheel has a 49.6mm inducer and is rated at 44lb/min max flow - supporting up to 240hp-460hp with a unique compressor wheel design resulting in a huge compressor map for outstanding power potential at any boost pressure. The 6258 is the smallest and fastest spooling EFR turbo in the Borg Warner line designed for tight engine bays this compact turbo is truly a heavy hitter. This 6258 is Ideal for any small engine in single turbo configuration as well as larger engines in a Twin Turbo configuration. This is an excellent turbocharger for any application looking for response as well as the ability to make some serious WHP. Such applications include; autocross, rally, drift, road racing and street driven applications. The light weight low inertia 6258 Gamma-Ti turbine wheel is optimally matched for maximum response and fast spool. Combined with the FMW Billet C and C extended tip technology compressor wheel the Borg Warner EFR turbo line is on the cutting edge of turbo technology. EFR 6258 uses the B1 EFR compressor housing, fitting in the tightest engine bays particularly twin turbo V6 and V8 applications such as the; VQ35, VR38, VQ37, LS1, LS7. Ideal for use in single turbo applications for the 240-460hp range, or as twin turbo applications 400-900+hp. Dual Ceramic Ball Bearing center section with water cooling ports using 14mm banjo bolt style conections.

  • Built-in BOV/BPV: All EFR compressor housings incorporate an integrated BOV/BPV. By re circulating compressed air from the compressor outlet into the compressor inlet when the throttle is lifted rather that venting to the atmosphere (as with a BOV) the pressure differential between compressor inlet and outlet is positively increased which results in faster spool and MUCH better response when coming on and off the throttle.
  • Compressor Housing: 2.5" inlet, 2.0" hose coupler outlet.

  • Turbine type: Low Inertia Gamma-Ti Turbine Wheel (Titanium turbine wheels mean less rotating mass resulting in un matched response and spool time)

    The EFR 6258 Turbo is available in (3) different turbine housing configurations:
    • 0.83 A/R T3 undivided (Internal WG)
    • 0.64 A/R T25 undivided (internal WG)
    • 0.92 A/R T4 twinscroll (Internal WG)
  • Turbine outlet: GT-Vband (3" vband) ~92mm OD for all EFR turbos makes for easy downpipe conection with NO more leaks or loose hardware!

General EFR Turbo Features

  • Dual Row Ceramic Ball Bearings – Provides the lowest friction and fastest spool/response with the most extreme durability, built-in oil control orifice (oil restrictor) There is no more worry about properly sizing an oil restrictor
  • Water cooled Center Section – Utilizing the water cooling is highly recommended, 14mm banjo bolts work great and are easy to install. 
  • Double seals are used on both the turbine and compressor end providing unmatched durability and resistance to any oil seepage
  • Boost Control Solenoid Valve has been mounted to the Compressor Housing (this is a GM style 3 port EBCS)
  • Integrated Speed Sensor mounting provisions for easy install of any shaft speed sensor (this service is also available from Brewed if you don’t want to drill into your new turbo)
  • Most EFR turbos are available with internal waste gate/s including divided waste gates on the twin scroll models.
