The throttle bypass anti-lag kit from Brewed Motors is a complete kit intended to be used with in conjunction with a stand alone engine management system. We normally recommend our Motec M1 series ecu package with full rally style antilag support. For tuning and set up assistance please contact us.
Brewed Motors Throttle bypass ALS kit includes:
- ALS control valve (this is a 12V valve that bypasses air around the throttle body)
- ALS wiring loom
- VE ALS fittings (weld on fitting for pre and post throttle body)
- VE soft lines
**Update 7/25/14 Velocity Element aka VE is now working with Brewed Motorsports to supply throttle bodies and intake manifolds Pre fit with Anti-lag hardware and fittings**
Below is a quote from the Brewed Motorsports blog explaining how the ALS valve works, we strong recommend reading the full story here: Brewed Anti lag systems explained Brewed Motors is currently using the Throttle bypass Anti-lag system on our 4g63 Galant VR4 normally used for transport to and through the Montana mountains (Dirt and Snow FTW).
Secondary air injection Antilag system:
“Rally style ALS are slightly more complicated, there are also a few different techniques used to get the desired results. I will only be touching on the secondary injection style anti lag as this has proven to work VERY well for our Brewed projects as well as 90% of WRC cars (Toyota, Subaru and Mitsubishi just to name a few). By introducing oxygen and fuel (in the proper mixture) directly into the exhaust manifold pre turbo you can produce combustion similar to the drag style ALS without moving the oxygen through the engine (the throttle plate can be closed or at a very low angle such as lifting off the throttle while cornering) This is the perfect way to lower the amount of stress on the engine/exhaust valves when compared to the drag style ALS as well as provide instant response when reapplying the throttle after lifting. Thanks to the WRC regulations many OEM cars actually came factory with this style of ALS however they were “tuned” off from the factory for the public. Cars such as the Evolution and all All-trac Celica could simply re map the ECU or use a standalone EMS and activate the OEM ALS!”

** Please contact us with any questions, keep in mind these are complicated systems that require proper tuning and maintenance. While it is possible to have a secondary air injection system on a street car you will also need all the supporting hardware and ECU/EMS.

Question
Jace Butler –
Can I put this on a 2003 Nissan 350z, and if so will it be able to work with nitros?

Eric_Brewed –
Yes these kits can be used on a turbo 350z. We normally use that kit with our Haltech ECU package and special antilag tune package.

Chris Dickens –
Will this fit on a 2015 WRX?

Eric_Brewed –
For the 2015 STI we actually offer throttle bypass antilag tuning as a free option with our motec ECU package. (there is no way to safely control the throttle bypass ALS kit using the stock 2015 wrx ECU.

Question
Mike –
Does this work for a 2017 wrx?

Eric_Brewed –
Yes but it will require ECU tuning to work properly. We normally use and tune Motec m1 series ECU’s for cars looking to run a rally style antilag system like this.
