SR20det BC Stage 2 Cams
The BC street spec camshafts are designed for easy plug and play application on the sr20det. The BC0205 boasts a 264 duration for nice street manners and slight lope at idle for an excellent all-purpose use. The stage 2 BC cams with a 264* duration let your SR20det breath freely which results in big power gains from ~3800rpm and up. If you are looking to wake up your SR20 while keeping a strong mid range power band these are the perfect cams for you.

The BC0205 fits all of the RWD SR20DET engines that debuted in the Nissan S13, S14 and S15 Silvia starting in 1991, it was also used in the S15, which feature a 6 speed transmission instead of the 5 speed used in previous models. The revised SR20DET engine featured a larger turbo charger and variable timing camshaft (VTC). The variable timing cam of the S14 and S15 SR20DET’s boast a 20-degree advance on the intake cam to provide more torque at lower RPM’s.
While VTC is preferred by some, as the system ages it is often prone to rattling. Simply replacing the camshafts will not necessarily rectify this issue. The easiest fix for an old VTC is to replace the VTC cam sprocket and solenoid. Another common option to eliminate the unwanted noise from the later SR20DETs is to remove the VTC using a conversion kit. This allows the modified engine to use the BC0201, or any other, camshafts for the S13. Here at Brewed we prefer to maintain the VTC whenever possible BUT in the case of high compression engine with high lift cams we sometimes us a non VTC s13 intake cam and sprocket.
For racing spec camshafts by Brain Crower, check out the BC0206 and ask us about our fully built S13, S14/15 and SR20VE cylinder heads for street, drag or drift. Our Dual guide conversion sr20det heads and SR20VE heads are built to support 9000rpm+.
To get the most out of your BC 264 cams for the SR20det we highly recommend using the SR20 BC springs and Ti retainers to prevent valve float and allow you to safely rev to 8000+rpm. We have been using BC cams in 95% of our SR20det builds, BC cams simply produce reliable power on each and every SR20. Choose from these BC 264 SR20det cams perfect for a medium sized turbo like the G25 660 turbo or the big BC 272 SR20det race cams for those planning to run a big turbo like the G35 1050 to make big top end HP numbers.

After tuning many SR20det’s with a range of mods and cams the BC stage 2 264 duration cam has proven to be one of the most effective cam choices for SR owners looking to make strong mid range power that pulls hard until 7500-8000rpm yet idles and drives smoothly. This is hands down my 1st recommendation of cams for any SR20 planning to make 300-600HP looking to make power from 3500-7500rpm. **for those looking to rev higher and make even more power the BC Stage 3 272 cams are the way to go!
