With the amazing S58 engine and a 6-Speed manual transmission using the twin disc that came in these cars from the factory, after even a tune the OE clutch can be almost insufficient. Lots of owners of these higher end powerful cars still want to maintain a car that is easy to drive on the street, yet still be able to reliably take the abuse they inevitably want to throw at it. Most aren’t looking to go full race car and install a twin disc designed for such use therefore Clutch Masters decided to help us, the consumers, bridge this gap with their expertise in the industry.
Our answer to these dilemmas is our Factory Fit FX Series Twin Disc Clutch Kits. Using components similar to what came in the car from the factory, Clutch Masters engineering team does everything they can to expand and improve upon the OE twin disc in many ways. Using higher end friction materials, lighter materials and our expertise in developing performance clutch kits for over 45 years, they dial in a twin disc kit that bridges the gap between full race car and luxury daily driver making serious horsepower. In the case of the BMW G8X twin disc, we have done away with the factory self-adjusting cover, a little over 10lbs of weight reduction in the entire assembly, and we have gone from an 8.5″ clutch disc to a 9.5″ disc for significantly more disc surface area.

The Factory Fit FX400 Series Twin disc will come as a complete replacement kit utilizing a lightweight aluminum Type 3 hard anodized flywheel, steel floater, factory style stamped steel cover, two DLX 6-Puck clutch discs utilizing our ceramic friction material, throw out bearing, and clutch fork.
This clutch is designed for someone who is going to spend many weekends at the track who is making considerable amounts of power over the stock setup but still may also want to use their car on the street from time to time. The FX400/HDC6 (6-Puck) ceramic paddle design creates a quick and rapid engagement as well as clutch chatter that may not be ideal for street driven vehicles. *Warning* Due to the solid (no Marcel) friction rivet design, the FX400 6-Puck disc engages very quickly and may chatter slightly in first and reverse. To help alleviate this problem, we only use premium ceramic friction material.
** It is highly recommended to eliminate the factory clutch delay valve. Not only will removing this piece improve the cars ability to shift quicker more efficiently, it will also help improve the lifespan of your new clutch **
