BM3 A90/A91 Toyota Supra ECU Tune
A Brewed E-tune using BM3 for the MK5 Supra unlocks hidden HP while improving reliability and fuel consumption. Don’t leave anything on the table when it comes to tuning your Toyota Supra, a Brewed E-Tune will ensure your engine is running at peak efficiency making reliable power for years to come. Engine mods, fuel grade and elevation all play major rolls in how an engine runs, there is no better way to ensure your engine is getting exactly what needs than a Brewed Etune. Brewed supports all Bootmod3 aka BM3 tuning applications for the Toyota Supra J29 A90 & A91 MK5 Supra.
E-tuning works as follows:
- Brewed Motors makes a custom base calibration “Base Map” for your BM3 licensed ecu based on your exact engine mods and fuel used. Base map is then emailed it to you.
- You upload the calibration aka base map to your ecu/car.
- You take the requested Data logs Brewed Motors can walk you through this step and will also tell you exactly what parameters to log and how to drive IE: RPM and Throttle position **you will need to use a nice straight, flat road/surface you can safely do 3rd gear pulls on.**
- Email Brewed Motors your Data Logs
- Brewed revises the calibration based on your data log and emails the new calibration. You can normally expect your updated calibration within 24 business hours however it may take 48 hours during race season.
- “Re-Tune” after new parts are installed or new fuel type is used we normally charge $150-$300 for a re-tune to get the most performance out of your new parts. Even if big parts changes have been made we will always be able to give a special re-tune price to returning customers, just send us an email or give us a call!
Pre Tune inspection & preparation:
- Boost leak test the car. (This ensures there are no leaks, even a small leak will have a big effect on the tune and cause problems down the road.) Click here to check out a great DIY boost leak tester article and build instructions from a subaru guy.
- Test for coolant, oil and fuel leaks (because fires are BAD).
- Spark plugs; check you are using the correct heat range plug and that the plug is gapped correctly
- Check your able to connect to the ecu and data log/save data log files
- (http://www.bootmod3.net) Mobile app (iOS and Android) + Web/computer including Windows and macOS support
Average HP and TQ gains after ecu tuning:
- Stage 1 91 octane: up to 22% HP / 25% TQ
- Stage 1 93 octane: up to 25% HP / 25% TQ
- Stage 1 E30 octane: up to 28% HP / 27% TQ
- Stage 2 91 octane: up to 26% HP / 28% TQ
- Stage 2 93 octane: up to 28% HP / 28% TQ
- Stage 2 E30 gas octane: up to 34% HP / 30% TQ
- **Stage 2 AGG (Aggressive burble) versions of maps also
***2020 Supra Models with November 2019+ software require a bench unlock. If you have November 2019 software update, feel free to contact support@protuningfreaks.com for details
*** OBD ENET cable required, available separately (Amazon sells these for ~$20)
*** bootmod3 OBD WiFi Adapter device is not required to use the bootmod3 platform. It is a convenient option that removes the need for using a laptop in the car when using bootmod3’s features. We do recommend using the obd wifi adapter for Etune services as it makes logging and receiving new ECU calibrations simple and fast.
Commonly used/requested data logs:
***Note*** Each data log should be kept as short as possible (10-20 seconds is normal) Logs should be done in 3rd gear unless otherwise stated. DO NOT drive the car hard until tuning is completed and data logs have been analyzed to confirm engine and all support modifications are working correctly.
- Engine start (cold start/engine warm up) this log will be one of the longest logs (logging from cold start to operating temperature).
- Engine start/idle (warm/operating temp) this log is normally ~15 seconds
- Low throttle (~10% throttle from idle to 4000 rpm) **holding throttle steady is the most important factor here, do not change the throttle position during the log.**
- Low throttle (~20% throttle from idle to 4000 rpm)**holding throttle steady is the most important factor here, do not change the throttle position during the log.**
- Mid throttle (~40% throttle from idle to 5000 rpm)**holding throttle steady is the most important factor here, do not change the throttle position during the log.**
- High throttle (~60% throttle from idle to 6300)**holding throttle steady is the most important factor here, do not change the throttle position during the log.**
- High throttle (100% throttle from idle to 6300)**holding throttle steady is the most important factor here, do not change the throttle position during the log.**
